Bargo NSW NSW Country

On the old Hume Highway in the picturesque Southern Highlands, Bargo boasts two of the four Upper Nepean dams including the largest, Avon Dam, classified by the National Trust as a site of architectural importance. Wirrimbirra Sanctuary and the Dingo Sanctuary are also worth a visit.

Bargo is south of Picton and just 84km south west of Sydney.

Did you know?

The first European sightings of the koala and lyrebird are said to have occurred in the Bargo area in 1798.
