Red Hill ACT

Red Hill gets its name from the red soil in the area, known to Geologists as ‘terra rossa’.

Red Hill itself is integral to Walter Burley Griffin’s design axis for Canberra and the leafy streets at the foot of the hill were conceived in line with his garden city plan. Hardly surprising that this picturesque suburb is Canberra’s most esteemed address.

Nearby suburbs

Other suburbs in the area include Kingston, Forrest, Narrabundah and Griffith.
