Pearce ACT

Pearce is named in honour of George (Foster) Pearce, West Australian Member of the Senate form 1901-38. He was responsible for a number of portfolios during his 37 years in Federal Parliament and served under Prime Minister’s Fisher and Hughes.

Mount Taylor is part of Canberra Nature Park which comprises 30 separate reserves around the Capital. The reserves contain some of the best examples of Yellow Box-Red Gum Grassy Woodland left in Australia. This type of woodland is an endangered ecological community. It is home to a number of rare or threatened species such as the Hooded Robin, Striped Legless Lizard and the Button Wrinklewort.
