Gowrie ACT

Gowrie is named after the Earl of Gowrie, Brigadier-General Alexander Gore Arkwright Hore-Ruthven (1872-1955), Governor-General of Australia from 1936-1944. Gowrie's streets are all named after members of the Australian Armed Forces who won decorations, including the Victoria Cross.
