Dickson ACT

As one of the first Canberra suburbs to be gazetted, back in 1928, Dickson like most of Canberra’s early suburbs, was named after a federalist, Sir James Dickson.

Nowadays the area is best known for its established multicultural community and restaurants.

Asian Restaurants

Woolley Street Dickson is Canberra’s China town and features many Asian restaurants including:

Jimmy’s Place - great variety and delicious dumplings
Thai Garden - an unbeatable seafood laksa
Tak Kee - best roast duck in town
Asian Noodle House - large, cheap servings and quick service
Ruby Chinese Restaurant - a Dickson institution

Pho Phu Qoc - cheap Vietnamese cuisine, worth the short walk around the corner to Cape Street Dickson.

Asian Supermarkets can be found on both Woolley and Badham Streets Dickson and are a good place to find cheap Asian vegetables.
