Conder ACT

One of three suburbs in the Lanyon Valley, Canberra’s most southern point, Conder extends from the slopes of Tuggeranong Hill to the Valley floor, affording the suburb some pretty fine views of the Brindabella’s.

The suburb is named after artist Charles Conder with the street names also following the theme of artists, including other members of the Heidelberg School such as Russell Drysdale and Tom Roberts

Nearby suburbs

Other suburbs in the Tuggeranong area include Gordon, Calwell, Theodore and Banks.

Did you know?

The Heidelberg School, of which Charles Conder was a founder, was Australia’s first significant art movement and, although it sounds like something inspired by German art, is actually just named after the Melbourne suburb of the same name. Very Australian!
