Campbell ACT

East of the City Centre, the affluent suburb of Campbell is named after Robert Campbell, the owner of ‘Duntroon Station’, which the suburb, and neighbouring military college, are built on.

Did you know?

Walter Burley Griffin’s original plan for Canberra included a ‘saloon’ or meeting place for the people at the site of what was to become the Australian War Memorial. Griffin’s plan was penned before WW1 and as such there was no requirement at the time for a national memorial to war.
