Independent Liquor Retailers (ILR) was established in March 2002, uniting independent ACT businesses under the 'Local Liquor' banner. ILR was established to protect and progress business within a competitive marketplace.

Guided by a committed Board of Directors and excellent management, Local Liquor quickly evolved into a major brand of 292 members across the ACT and NSW, with a natural progression into the QLD market occurring in January 2012.

Local Liquor prides itself on being a group for the benefit of its members, supporting industry suppliers and attracting consumers with a consistent and first-class service. The success of Local Liquor is a direct reflection of the open and transparent nature of the business, with the support and development of participating members and beneficial trading agreements with key suppliers.

In 2012 we celebrate our 10th anniversary and are proud that we remain a completely independent body.
